Roy Dan Davis, 61, of Dahlonega passed away Jan. 7, 2014, after a period of declining health. Born July 27, 1952, in Lumpkin County to Willie Mae Berry Davis and the late Joe Dan Davis. He retired from North Georgia College after 30 years of service. He owned and operated his own business, Davis Locksmith Service. He was a member of Siloam Baptist Church. He was a member of Blue Mountain Lodge #38. He was also a former member of The Board of Elections.Mr. Davis was preceded in death by father, Joe Dan Davis; niece, Jessica Gibson; father-in-law, Bobby Thomas. Survivors include his wife, Gail Davis of Dahlonega; mother, Willie Mae Davis of Dahlonega; children, Daniel and Stephanie Davis, Jay and Elizabeth Davis, all of Dahlonega; grandchildren, Eric and Caroline Davis of Dahlonega; sister, Sue Davis of Dahlonega; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Angela Davis of Dahlonega; brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Beverly Davis of Dahlonega; mother-in-law, Nell Thomas of Dahlonega; brother and sister-in-law, Ernie and Bonnie Thomas of Dahlonega; niece, Hannah Davis of Dahlonega; nephew, Johnathan Davis of Dahlonega; several other relatives; and friends also survive.Visitation will be held at Dahlonega Funeral Home on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, from 4-9 p.m. and Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m.Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Siloam Baptist Church with the Revs. Jason Sullens, Lyman Caldwell, Casey Robinson and Tony Allison officiating.Honorary pallbearers are co-workers from North Georgia College.Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made in his memory to Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Ren Woodward, 1770 Oak Grove Road, Dahlonega, GA 30533, or to Dahlonega United Methodist Church youth program, 107 S.
