DOVER — Judge Robert H. Temple died at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011. He was born July 28, 1927 in Coronado, Calif., the son of Harry and Blanch Temple. Judge Temple graduated from Nashua High School, Boston University and the Boston University School of Law.Judge Temple was an accomplished trial lawyer with the law firm of Fisher, Parsons, Moran and Temple in Dover for 20 years. He was appointed as a Superior Court judge by Gov. Gallen in 1979. He presided over the Strafford County Superior Court until his retirement in 1995.He was a member of the N.H. Bar Association and a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason. Judge Temple was a community leader in Dover and was devoted to his wife and family. He loved his family vacations at Attitash Mountain and Moody Beach. He was an avid golfer who belonged to Sunningdale and Cocheco Country Clubs.Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Katherine (Gerasis) Temple, sons Robert Temple II and wife Helen of Exeter, Charles Temple and wife Kelly of Concord and Matthew Temple and wife Susan of Dover. He had six grandchildren, April Connor and husband Jon, Matthew Temple II, Shayne Temple and wife Lindsay, Ashley Drew, Rylee and Brier Temple, great grandson Chase Connor, sister Jo-Ellen Temple of Readington Shores, Fla., and nephew Christian Raudelunas of Amherst, N.H.Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Jan. 14, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave., Dover, NH. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at the Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Road (Route 4), in Lee at 10 a.m.A private burial will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery.
