Robert "Bob" S. Temple, 93, of West Orange, N.J., passed away on Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at the Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main St. at 8:30 a.m., then to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Eagle Rock Ave. in West Orange for the Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair. Visiting will be on Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. Letters of condolence may be posted at danglerfuneralhome.com. Mr. Temple was born in and lived in Montclair before moving to West Orange in 1945. He was the deputy chief of the West Orange Township Police Department, retiring in 1982 after 31 years of service. Mr. Temple was a military policeman while serving in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, the board of trustees, and a Eucharistic minister at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in West Orange. Mr. Temple was a founding member of the West Orange PBA Local No. 25 and the West Orange PAL. He was the beloved husband of the late Rita Temple (nee Taaffe); loving father of Amy Caruso-Pellaton and her husband, Pierre; cherished grandfather of Robert and Christopher Caruso; great-grandfather of Cassandra, and loving uncle of Eileen Flanagan.
