-> Mr. Robert Owens, 61, departed this life on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at Memorial Medical Center. He was a Savannah native and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Tremont Temple Baptist Church. He was a chef at Hyatt Regency, Savannah College of Art and Design and retired from Krystal Restaurant. Survivors include his wife Mrs. Janice Owens, Ellabell, GA; two daughters, Vanessa Smith, Hinesville, GA and Rebecca Mitchell, Savannah, GA; three sons, Wilbert Mitchell, Ellabell, GA, Lorenzo Mitchell and Robert Owens both of Hinesville, GA; six sisters, Constance Owens Nettie Blake, Diana Jackson, Brenda Burgress, Allyn Owens and Wanda Jones, all from Savannah, GA, 17 grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Wake: 6:00-7:00 p.m,. Sunday, January 29, 2006 in the Chapel of Sidney A. Jones Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 12:00 Noon Monday, January 30, 2006 at Tremont Temple Baptist Church. Interment: Evergreen Memorial Garden. The remains will lie in state at 10:00 a.m., Monday until the hour of service. Sidney A.
