LITCHFIELD - Robert L. "Bob" Williams, 80, of Huntington Hill Road died unexpectedly Saturday, May 3, 2008. He was born in Pejebscot on April 4, 1928, the son of Celia Williams Wallace and Laurel Williams. He attended Gardiner High School after which he went to work for the Augusta Paper Mill. Bob worked as an electrician for Local 1253 IBEW for over 50 years until his retired in 1991. He took great pride in the fact he had worked on the construction of the Twin Towers in NewYork. Bob filled his retirement years keeping busy with his hobby of woodworking and running his small business Bob's Woodworking Shop in Litchfield and traveling around the state doing fairs selling his products. He was predeceased by his father in 1997 and his mother in 2003, his brother Earland and his sister Margarite. Survivors include his wife of over 61 years, Marian (Shirley) Williams of Litchfield; his three sons, Daniel Williams of Bangor, Jeffery Williams of Portland, and Larry Williams of Litchfield; his granddaughter, Shannon (Williams) May and her husband, Christopher; two great-grandsons, Ashton and Quentyn May of Westbrook; former daughter-in-law Sue Williams of Waterville; his grandson, Shane Pare, and his daughter, Hailey; four half-brothers, Stanley Wallace, Earl Wallace, Lugene Wallace and Patton Williams. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, May 6, from 2-4 p.m. at Staples Funeral Home 53 Brunswick Ave. Gardiner. Burial will be at the Litchfield Plains Cemetery on Friday, May 9, at 2 p.m.
