HANSON, Robert Gordon 'Bob' - Bob Hanson of Thornbury passed away in Meaford on Monday January 26, 2009 at the age of 59. Surrounded by his loving family, Bob quietly continued his spiritual journey beyond this life. With loving gratitude to have this kind gentle man in their lives Bob leaves behind his loving wife Laurel, daughter Tracy Hutchinson (Nuno Nogueira) of Portugal, Doug Hanson (Heather Ann) and grandchildren Alex and Rylee (and baby on the way) of Collingwood, and step- daughter Carly Seekings of British Columbia. Cherished son of John and Ann Hanson of Hamilton; loving brother of Virginia Falconi (Glenn) and brother-in-law of Karen Hanson of Burlington. Bob is now enjoying this next leg of his journey with his brother John (Nov. 30, 2008) and his first wife Janice (March 10, 1998). He is lovingly remembered by his extended Brand and Hanson families as well as many friends for his kind, gentle spirit as well as his service to the community over the past 25 years working as Manager of Catering at the Alpine Ski Club and then as owner/chef of Sterio's Steak and Seafood Restaurant in Thornbury. During his last year Bob struggled with his Lymphoma but was still able to enjoy canoeing and hanging in his hammock in his favourite spot on the Beaver River. Cremation has taken place and interment of Bob's ashes will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford in the spring.
