Rita L. Smith Rita L. Smith, 84, died Saturday morning, July 31, 2004 following an extended illness. Rita Smith was born July 15, 1920 at Paducah, Texas. She was a member of the Logan First Baptist Church. She had been a homemaker. She was preceded in death in 1997 by her husband W.J. Smith. She is survived by her son Wendell Smith (Patricia) of Tucumcari and Jake White of Tucumcari. In addition she is survived by two grandchildren of Tucumcari. Funeral services were Tuesday morning in the Dunn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Wes Steward of Temple Baptist Church officiating. Following the services, burial took place at the San Jon Cemetery where she was buried next to her husband. Arrangements by Dunn Funeral Home.
