JAMES, Richard Allan (Dick), Passed away peacefully at Bluewater Health Mitton Street on Thursday, April 15, 2004 after 90 healthy years. Dad is survived by his beloved daughters Jennifer, Janice and Dixie and his sons-in-law Ron Matsushita, Paul Ir eland and Darryl Whyte. Also survived by his loving grandchildren Michele Ireland and Arun Andrade, Toronto, Sarah Matsushita, Osaka Japan, Michael Matsushita and Jen Trantor, Hamilton and Kate and Graham Humphreys, Brights Grove. He was the proud gr eat-grandfather of 11 month old Jillian Andrade. Dad was predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years, Marian (1998) and his grandson Mark James Ireland (2000). Also predeceased by infant daughter Mary Jane and his sister Mary and Nellie. Dad was born and raised on a farm in Blenheim, Ontario. He was proud to have graduated with a chemistry degree from the University of Toronto-Guelph Campus and felt his times there were some of the best of his life. Dad and mom began their life together in Toron to and moved to Sarnia after their daughter Jennifer was born. He came to Sarnia to take a job with Mueller Brass where he worked for 35 years until his retirement in 1978. Housing was no plentiful in 1946 in Sarnia and being the resourceful person h e was, Dad built his own home for his growing family. He lived there until his death, being able to maintain his independence with help from his family and special neighbours Marg and Don Ecker. We wish to thank Dr. Bill Muir for all his care and kin dness to Dad over the years and especially the last few months. Friends will be received at the SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia on Sunday, April 18, 2004 afternoon from 2-5 p.m. Funeral service to be held on Monday, April 19, 2004 at 11: 00 a.m. from SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Sarnia. A private interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. If so desired, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Lambton Lung Association or the Canadian Red Cross.
