ANDERSON, Rennie David Suddenly on October 30, 2008, passed away to be with his Lord. Born on August 20, 1925 in Anaheim California, he was raised on a farm in Saanich. He was predeceased by parents, Rennie and May and his brother Ray. Dave [aka Scouter Dave] was active in Scouting for 60 yrs beginning as an 8 yr old Cub. He served in the Royal Canadian Army during WWII then the Royal Canadian Air Force. He and his wife Jessie raised their family at Military Bases in Ottawa, Germany and Sea Island. After his military retirement, the family moved back to Saanich where he worked and farmed on his grandparents homestead. In 1974 they moved to Cowichan Station where he farmed and worked until ill health forced his retirement, then he farmed full time at his own pace. He was very active in both the Saanich Agricultural Society, Cobble Hill Farmers Institute, Scouts and other community organizations. Survived by his loving wife Jessie of 57 yrs., his children Cathy [Mark] Gibson of Duncan, Rennie [Maryanne] of Red Deer Ab., Nancy Cline of Victoria and Dawna Fraser [Nigel] of Ardersier Scotland, 5 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren who all dearly loved to be teased by their beloved Poppa", also by his brother Bob of Duncan and sister Reneva Young and her family of Santa Fe Springs Ca. A Celebration of Life service will be held Nov 15th at 2:00 pm at Cobble Hill Baptist Church, 3625 Cobble Hill Rd, with a tea to follow. Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired, memorial remembrances may be made in the form of a donation to any children's charity.
