ARMSTRONG, Ralph E.passed away on January 31, 2016 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Olive Armstrong nee Close. Loving father of Geoffrey (Beth Stanyar), Stephen (Michelle April) and Richard (Nancy Lillico). Cherished grandfather of Ian, Scott, Will, Selena, Jade and Keely. He will be remembered by his brother Norman (late Annie), his sisters Phyllis (Ron), Betty (Claude) and Janice (Cal) and many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Ralph was a longtime resident and active community member of Lakeview Terrace, located in Aylmer, Quebec. Recipient of the Governor General Award for community service, Ralph was active in the Aylmer sporting community including the formulation of DASH Little League baseball and the construction of the Aydelu Arena. He was the National President of the National Health and Welfare union from 1969 to 1990. Ralph was a compassionate and humble man who will be dearly missed. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of Racine, Robert & Gauthier Beauchamp 47, Denise Friend Gatineau (Aylmer) on Friday February 5, 2016 at 11 a.m. The family will receive condolences from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Parkinson Society Canada would be appreciated.
