Obituary of Paul M. Gilbert


Paul M. Gilbert 1985 - 2009 CHICOPEE - Paul M. Gilbert, 24, of Fairmont St., passed away on March 31, 2009 at home. Born in Holyoke, MA on February 26, 1985, son of Michael Gilbert of Chicopee and the late Patricia Ann Gagnon. Paul graduated from Chicopee Comp. and received an Associate's Degree from Holyoke Community College. Paul was a subcontractor who worked in the field of drywalling. In his leisure, he enjoyed martial arts and working out. Besides his father Michael and step mother Colombe Poulien of Canada, he is survived by a sister Cynthia Gagnon and his Goddaughter Dianesse of Chicopee as well as his stepbrothers Steve and Harold Poulien. He will also be missed by his grandmother Dorothy Gagnon, his aunts Kathy Tedford, Judy and Susan Gagnon, and uncles George, Tom and Gary Gagnon. Paul also leaves his family in Canada including his Godparents Joe and Mary Poulien as wells as his aunts Jackie and Cadine, uncles John, Jack and Mury Gilbert. There are many close friends that will miss Paul. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St., (Rt. 116). Friends and family may gather at the funeral home at 8:45 a.m. on Monday to process to the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Chicopee for a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass.
