McINTYRE, Patricia Faye (Botheras) March 2, 1933 - January 14, 2011 Pat (Patsy) passed away in the Campbell River Hospital (B.C.) early Friday afternoon. She will be missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Leslie (Richter) and her son Robb. Survived by her sisters, Nell Ainley and Pauline McKown, her grandsons Loc, Harold and Brian, her great-grandsons Lucas and Jacob and all her nieces. Pat was born on the farm at Altario, Alberta to Katie and Stanley Botheras. Predeceased by her husband Douglas McIntyre, a mining engineer, in 1964, she had many wonderful stories about living in Peru and Nicaragua. After her husband's death she worked at the University of Alberta in the Geology Department. In 1968 she moved with her two children to Vancouver, B.C. where she worked in property management and insurance. Twenty years later she would move back to Alberta to be closer to her two sisters. In frail health for the past two years, she moved to Quadra Island, B.C. to live with her daughter. Patricia had a great passion for color and throughout her life expressed it in her many creative talents. She was a kind, warm, welcoming person with a heart of gold and a great sense of humor. "We were all better people for knowing her". A celebration of life will be held on Quadra Island, Saturday, July 23, 2011, when the hummingbirds are out.
