-><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Harris, PatriciaPatricia Harris, who served with the Rockefeller Foundation in New York City for 40 years, died of complications of old age on February 12, 2015 at Kendal at Ithaca where she had lived since 1995. She was 91. Ms. Harris was born in England to a colonial family that had recently returned from Karachi, then part of British India. She was raised in Shillingford near Oxford, and was educated at Wycombe Abbey School. During World War Two, she worked for a joint British Army and Navy intelligence unit at Manchester College, Oxford University, which supplied topographic views based on photographs for use in such operations as invasions, notably in North Africa. After the war, she worked for the Joint Intelligence Bureau in England before moving to the United States in 1948 and joining the Rockefeller Foundation. She retired around 1988. Ms Harris was predeceased by her mother Mabel Gertrude (nee Ascherson) and father Cyril Harris, and her siblings Anne Couchman, Barbara Clauson, Robert Elsworth and Joan Lomax. She is survived by her nine nieces and nephews, numerous grand-nieces and nephews and a number of great grand-nieces and nephews. Ms. Harris lived for many years on East 72nd St. in New York and, together with her old friend Barbara Hunt, was very involved with the former Light Opera of Manhattan (LOOM), notably its productions of Gilbert and Sullivan operettas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross, 2 Ascot Place, Ithaca, NY 14850. Bangs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
