Mrs. -Susie-Arie-Elizabeth-Stewart Williams, spouse of Willis-S. Williams, mother of Willis Craig, N. C, Cecilia and Ronnie Stewart, died at 89 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
STATESBORO - Mrs. Susie Arie Elizabeth Stewart Williams, age 89, died Tuesday evening at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. The Screven County, Ga., native moved to Bulloch County at the age of 9 months. She was a graduate of Berry College and Georgia Teachers College. Mrs. Williams taught school at Westside School for two years and Stilson School for 15 years. She moved to Columbus, Ga., in 1959 and taught at the Rigdon Road Elementary and South Columbus Elementary for a total of 18 years. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Georgia Retired Teachers Association and the Bulloch County Keenage Club. She was a member of the Brooklet United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Willis S. Williams. Surviving is two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronnie Stewart Williams and Cecilia Williams of Asheville, N.C., and Willis Craig Williams of Statesboro; a sister, Janelle Belcher of Statesboro; four grandchildren, Tracey Elizabeth Williams of Asheville, N.C., Kimberly Ann Holley, and husband, Jon, of Asheville, N.C., Jennifer Gwen Williams and Jonathan Craig Williams, both of Aiken, S.C.; and a great-grandchild, Aaron Stewart Holley. The funeral service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Brooklet United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wes Moye officiating. The body will lie in state for one hour. Interment will be in the Brooklet City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny Hearn, Larry Hearn, Ricky Hearn, Judge Hearn, Billy Tyson and Joseph A Grooms Jr. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Brooklet United Methodist Church Building Fund, 201 N.
