Mrs. -Jessie-Nina-Mae Johnson, born in 1919, spouse of Clarence Johnson, daughter of Emmett and Beulah-Yohn, mother of Roger, Edna and Edward, died on May 20, 2011 at 92 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
Mrs. Jessie Mae Johnson, age 92, passed away Friday, May 20, 2011. She was born April 15, 1919 in DeFuniak Springs to Emmett and Beulah Yohn Vann.Mrs. Johnson had been a resident of DeFuniak Springs. She was Christian by faith and a member of Concerned Christian Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, fishing and going to church. Some of her favorite pastimes were cooking for her family and singing and dancing with her grandchildren. Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Roger Johnson; two infant sons; brothers, Clifford Vann, Eugene Vann and Elick Vann; sisters, Mozelle Johnson, Marie Vann, Muriel Grasty and Ruby Jean Vann.Mrs. Johnson is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Clarence Johnson of DeFuniak Springs; one daughter, Edna Spears, and husband, Sidney, of DeFuniak Springs; one son, Edward Johnson, and wife, Lisa, of DeFuniak Springs; one daughter-in-law, Patsy Johnson, of DeFuniak Springs; one brother-in-law, James Johnson of Ocala, Fla. She is survived by six grandchildren: Nina Boudreaux and husband, Herman; Amanda VanMeer and fiancé, Lothar Newsome; Jessica Gentry and husband, James; Johnny Johnson and wife, Samantha; Tracy Campbell and husband, Elisha; and Walker Clemmons; and 10 great-grandchildren: Angel, Dustin, Brittney, Breeanna, Yasmine, David, Haley, Kyle, Sharee and Krysten. She is also survived by special friend, Betty Blackman, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.A time of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 24 , 2011 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home with Reverend Walter Ales officiating.Burial will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery.You may go online to view obituaries, offer condolences, sign guest book, at www.clary-glenn.comClary-Glenn Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
