Mattie Owens Peterman Davis, 76, Newark, N.J., passed away on Dec. 5, 2013, after a brief illness. An employee of Newark public schools for 29 years, Mattie retired in 2001. She was the mother to Marcean, Marcus, and Matthew Peterman; grandmother to five grandchildren; sister to three siblings. Viewing is from 10 a.m. to 12 noon today, Wednesday, Dec. 11, with the service at 12 noon, at Jehovah-Jireh Praise and Worship Church Center, 505 S. 15th St., Newark, N.J.
