Funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Village Chapel for Mary Wells Hood, 68, of Attalla, who died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007. Pastor Victor Helmuth will officiate. Burial at Rainbow Memorial Cemetery. Village Chapel Funeral Home and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.Mrs. Hood was a loving and devoted mother, wife and daughter and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her father, Hub Wells; special aunt, Lois Templeton; grandson, Cole Jenkins; father-in-law, Robert Hood Sr.; and mother-in-law, Henrilu Hood.She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Robert "Bobby" Hood Jr.; children, Dawn (Tony) Clark, Marshall (Cindy) Hood, Regina (Alan) Hawkins, Angela (Brian) Ross, Pam (Ricky) Pitts; grandchildren, Joseph Clark, Jill (Jeff) Jenkins, Jonathan and Jessica Washington, Lauren and Kyndall Hood, Maegan and Dalton Gargus, and Christopher, Julie and Rayna Pitts; great-grandson, Davian Clark; mother, Mildred Wells; brother, Hub (Gail) Wells Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be family members.Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Hood's doctors.Special thanks to the second- and third-floor nurses and staff of Riverview Regional Hospital.The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
