Obituary of Mary McGee


McGee, Mary (nee Del'Zotto) a 55 Larchmont resident on February 4, 2009 at age 77. Mary was born in Rye on July 23, 1931 to Giorgio and Ermalinda (nee Di Leonardo) Del'Zotto. Mary was a real estate broker-agent for Coldwell Banker McMillian Severin. Mary was the 9th district director of the Federated Garden Club of New York State as well a past president of the Larchmont Garden Club and past president of the Woman's Club of Larchmont. She was chairwoman of the Sts. John and Paul Beautification Committee. Her expertise in floral arrangement and design won her numerous awards and acclaim. She was a nationally recognized flower show judge, a NYS Horticultural Judge, and landscape design consultant. Mary was a master teacher in the art of the Japanese school of Ikebana flower arranging. She is the beloved wife of James R. McGee, the devoted mother of Barbara Schmidt, Dr. William T., Dr. James R. Jr., and George McGee. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and a sister Minni Del'Zotto. A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday 4-8 at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME 767 E. Boston Post Rd. Mamaroneck. 914-698-5968. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 a. m. on Monday at Sts. John & Paul R.C. Church. Memorial donations in Mary's memory can be made to the Garden Club of Larchmont c/o Nedra Gillette 5 Pine Ridge Road Larchmont, NY 10538.
