HICKS Mary M. Byrd Hicks, 89, passed away January 8, 2004. The daughter of the late William Henry Beatty and Mary Scotte Beatty, Mrs. Hicks was born in Sanford, FL and was a Jacksonville, FL resident since 1940. She was a devoted mother, loving grandmother and great-grandmother, and cared greatly for all of God's animals. Survivors include her sons, Hubert T. Byrd and Jack E. Byrd; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, January 12, 2004 at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens, 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd.
