NEWKIRK Mary L. Newkirk, age 47, of Bridgeport, died on Thursday, October 23, 2003, at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport, Mary had been a lifelong resident. She worked as a landscaper for several years. Survivors include two sons, Johnny Newkirk of Stamford, and Regis Newkirk of Bridgeport; two daughters, Anessa and Jakola Newkirk; and her mother, Priscilla Yates, all of Bridgeport; a brother, Robert Harding of Georgia; two sisters, Bernice Mendoza of Bridgeport, and Venzula Mathews of Monroe; three grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, at 7 p.m. at MortonAs Mortuary Inc., 25 Margaret E. Morton Lane, Bridgeport. Interment will take place on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Park Cemetery. Friends may view on Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
