Mary (Lockary) Hicks, 86, Port Charlotte, died Aug. 1, 2005, in Port Charlotte. She was born Sept. 30, 1918, in Niagara Falls, Canada, and came to the Charlotte County area in 1980 from Weymouth, Mass. She worked as a teacher for 13 years at the Rockland Public School in Rockland, Mass., and for the Carthage school district in Enosburg Falls, Vt. She was a Catholic. Survivors include daughters Elizabeth Lloyd of Hanover, Mass., and Kathleen Petersen of Port Charlotte; sons Alvin of Dallas, Texas, and Thomas of Brockton, Mass.; and two grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Church of the Good Shepherd Episcopal, 401 W. Henry St., Punta Gorda. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va. Farley Funeral Home, North Port Chapel, is in charge.
