Mary Kate Quillen Harris, age 82, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at the NHC of Clinton after a lengthy illness.She was born on October 6, 1912, to Allie Hicks Patrick and William H. Patrick in Scott County, Va., and spent most of her early life in Nickiesville, Va., before moving to Kingsport, Tenn.Mrs. Harris retired from Rental Uniform in Kingsport and moved to Clinton, S.C., in 1974.She lived with her daughter in Wilkesboro, N.C., for the past four and one-half years before entering NHC in October 2004.She was predeceased by her first husband, Omer Lee Quillen; and her second husband, Rhea Harris; also a grandson, Jeffrey Sherrill Hartsock; four sisters, Vista Jones, Amy Brookshire, Becky McKinley and Lettie Boyer; three brothers, Joe Patrick, Jim Patrick and Willard Patrick.Mrs. Harris is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Quillen Horner of Clinton, S.C., and Sue Quillen Barrett of Wilkesboro, N.C.; a granddaughter, Tonya Brummitt of Henderson, N.C.; a great-granddaughter, Danielle Brummitt, also of Henderson, N.C.; two sisters, Catherine Duncan of Woodruff, S.C., and Virgie Jessee of Nicklesville, Va.; three brothers, Jack Patrick of Fall Branch, Tenn., George Patrick of Blountville, Tenn., and Wayne Ketron of Royston, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home of Clinton. They will also receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the East Lawn Funeral Home in Kingsport, Tenn. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 8 p.m. in the East Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the East Lawn Memorial Park in Kingsport, Tenn.Gray Funeral Home of Clinton.
