Mary Gray died Dec. 27, 2009, in the Presbyterian Home in Florence, S.C. She was 87. Relatives and friends may call at the Wilfred Armitage and Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr., Kearny, on Thursday at 11 a.m. Graveside prayers are at Arlington Cemetery at noon. Born in North Arlington, Mary lived for most of her life in Kearny before moving to South Carolina eight years ago. She was an active volunteer at West Hudson Hospital, and loved to be a volunteer reader at the Children's Library, both in Kearny. Mary was a retired office manager for Prudential in Newark. She was predeceased by her brother, John, and twin sister, Margaret Farmer. Mary is survived by her sister-in-law, Donna; her niece, Lynn Phelps; nephew, James Gray, and her best friend, Celeste Byrne.
