Obituary of Mary-G. Wright


VENTURA, Calif. Mary Gruna Wright, 83, formerly of Fourth Street in Troy, died on December 27, 2004 at Ventura Community Hospital. Born in Jenners, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Alex and Anna Yaroszczak Kerman. She was predeceased by her husbands, Charles A. Wright (1996) and Stanley J. Romaniszyn (1947). Mrs. Wright was employed by the New York Telephone Company and also worked for Samaritan Hospital. She retired in 1982 and in 1983 relocated to Calif. with her husband Charles. While residing in Troy, Mary was a member of the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church and was active in its women's societies. Mary is survived by her three devoted daughters, Patricia (Norman) Aldrich of Troy, Donna and Charlene Wright of Calif.; several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service was held at the Skillen-Carroll Mortuary Chapel on January 7, 2005 which would have been Mary's 84th birthday. The service was performed by Rev. Charles Luares and the eulogy was given by Mary's son-in-law, Norman Aldrich. In accordance with her wishes, Mary was cremated and her ashes scattered over the Pacific Ocean at Ventura Harbor at sunset. Ashes of her husband Charles and the family pet, Chelsea, were also scattered at the same time. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929 or to a charity of one's choice.
