Miss Mary E. Groves Clinton Miss Mary E. Groves, a resident of the Katherine Luther Home in Clinton, formerly of Sunset Ave. in Utica and the Sunset Wood Apartments in New Hartford, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2010, at the nursing home. Mary was born in Utica, the daughter of Earl and Lena (Behr) Groves, and received her education in Utica schools. Mary was employed with J.B. Wells Co. and later as a ward secretary with St. Elizabeth Hospital until her retirement. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in New Hartford, the Christ Child Society and the Secular Franciscans. Mary was a former member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Utica and the Altar Rosary Society of St. Joseph St. Patrick Church and St. Francis de Sales Church. Miss Groves is survived by several cousins. In keeping with Mary's wishes, there are no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to a prayer service on Friday (today), October 15, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, followed by her burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Yorkville. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 16, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John The Evangelist Church in New Hartford.
