July 31, 2006 Mary Alice Bunnell Jones, 89, of Fayetteville, passed away at Crouse Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Syracuse and resided in Fayetteville for many years. She was the ninth of 11 children. Mary Alice retired from the telephone company. She was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church, Fayetteville and a former member of its Altar Society. She was a member of the Fayetteville Senior Center. Mary Alice enjoyed knitting for her nieces and nephews, gardening, and having family get-togethers at her cottage on the lake near Henderson Harbor. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis H. Jones in 1991, whom she married on March 6, 1943. Four brothers, Calvin, Kenneth, Frank, and Robert; and three sisters, Nett Lillie, Kate Barr, and Grace Aldrich all died before her. Survivors: Her sisters, Lou Bowes of Corona, CA and Betty Fanella of Syracuse; her brother, John Bunnell of Fayetteville; and several nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews. Funeral Services: 9:15 a.m. Thursday at Eaton-Tubbs-Schepp Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial, St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
