September 25, 2003 Mary Aldrich Jones died at age 102 at the Nottingham on Thursday September 25, 2003. She was Born in West Virginia and graduated from Ithaca College in 1926. She taught music and voice at Syracuse University. Her father William F.Aldrich was the first president of Clarkson College. She was pre deceased by her husband Edward M. Jones in 1988. They were married in 1930. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral and was active in the Women of St. Paul's. She was active in Civic Morning Musicals where she gave one women musical reviews and served on their Board of Directors. She sang in several area churchs'. She was a poet and long time member of the Corinthian Club where she gave dramatic performances and book reviews. She continued her book reviews at the Nottingham until the age of 99. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held Wednesday October 8, 2003 at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral 310 Montgomery St. Syracuse. The family will greet friends in the Brewster Room following the service. Memorial donations may be made to Friends of Music at St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral.
