Marjorie-A. Clark, born in 1926, spouse of John Clark, died on June 11, 2010 at 84 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
CLARK, Marjorie A., 84, died peacefully Friday afternoon, June 11, 2010, at her home in Sun ' n Lakes, Sebring, Fla., after a long illness. Born and educated in Columbus, Ohio, and formerly of Birmingham and Troy, Mich., many will remember her indefatigably positive attitude, dedication to community service, and her love of Ohio State University, from which she graduated Phi Beta Kappa as a Kappa Delta the sorority she treasured. As a longtime resident of Sun ' n Lakes, she devoted much time to volunteering at Florida Hospital Heartland, in addition to organizing many events, large and small, celebrating many causes, for family, friends, and community who could always depend on a stellar meal, accompanied by an inspired attention to ambience and detail. Always willing to lend a hand, impeccably dressed and invariably coifed, Marge organized anything and everything to perfection, with a sense of humor and a ready and recognizable laugh. She enjoyed many activities, including golf, bridge, bowling, traveling, arts and crafts, decorating, and cooking. As our own "Queen Mother," we will all affectionately remember her presiding over the deck of the cabin on our spectacular little Island 15 hideaway, near Desbarats, Ontario, Canada. Fondly nicknamed "Red" by her husband, she remained delightfully stubborn and endearingly positive right up until her death. Survived by her husband of 58 years, John; and her daughters, Deborah and Jennifer of Half Moon Bay, Calif., and Rebecca of Loveland, Colo.; three grandchildren, Jeremy, Wesley and Sophia; and three great-grand-children; in addition to her sister, Carol Large of Big Rapids, Mich.; among many other cousins, nieces, and nephews, she was beloved by all and will be dearly missed. Memorial plans will be announced soon. In lieu of a large service or flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer' s Association of America, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633 or online at http://www.alz.org/join_the_cause_donate.asp.
