Margaret-Mary Hicks, born in 1920, spouse of Clyde-J. Hicks, daughter of Victor-E and Eva, mother of John J, N. C, Thomas R, Victor E, Patricia, Deborah and Cheryl, died on July 8, 2004 at 83 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
HICKS Margaret Mary "Peggy" Hicks, age 83, of Bethany, entered into peaceful rest on Thursday, July 8, 2004, at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Clyde J. Hicks. Mrs. Hicks was born on September 4, 1920, in New Haven, daughter of the late Victor E. and Eva (Cox) Lipka. Peggy was a retired matron from the Amity Junior High School, where she was employed for 20 years, retiring in 1985. A resident of Bethany since 1942, Mrs. Hicks was also a communicant of the First Church of Christ Congregational, Bethany, where she taught religious education for 19 years. She was a member of the Hamden Grange and enjoyed camping and travel. Peggy leaves her loving family including three sons, John J. Hicks of Franklinton, N.C., Thomas R. Hicks of Bethany, and Victor E. Hicks of Seymour; three daughters, Patricia Bradley of Hamden, Deborah Pechalonis of West Haven, and Cheryl Messier of Seymour; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will held on Tuesday at noon in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may call at the funeral home also on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the Bethany Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Fund, Amity Road, Bethany, CT 06524.
