Margaret Lawson, 92, died peacefully at her home Friday, August 19, 2011, surrounded by her family. Born in Watervliet, NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Hayes) McBride. A graduate of Mont Pleasant High School, Mildred Elley Business School and Schenectady Community College, Margaret worked for the Shenendehowa School District for over 14 years. A member of Our Lady of Grace Church, the Burnt Hills Seniors Bowling League and a volunteer at Ellis hospital, Margaret was also a former member of the Burnt Hills AM Mixed league. Predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Everett G. Lawson in 1990, she was also predeceased by her granddaughter, Catherine Lawson; sister, Mary Sanders and husband, Raymond; brothers, Edward McBride and wife, Jeanette, William McBride and Thomas McBride. Margaret is survived by her children, Janice Zimmerman (Charles) of Ballston Lake, and William Lawson (Rose) of Galway; grandchildren, Mary Palaszewski (David), Eileen Lawson, Megan Lawson, Jennifer Zimmerman and Heather Coons (Robert); great-grandchildren, Roselyn, Dillan, William, Elizabeth and Makayla, as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning, August 24, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY, followed at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church, 73 Midline Road, Ballston Lake, NY, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. Interment in Most Holy Redeemer, Niskayuna.
