COTTONDALE | Mae "Cooter" Smith, age 68, of Cottondale, died December 9, 2014 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2014, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel with Rev. Carrol Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel directing. Visitation will be Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her son, Jason Smith; parents, Thomas Pate, Sr. and Otha Mae Pate; and brother, Nelson Smith.She is survived by her husband, Wayne Smith; daughter, Maria Paz Vazquez; son, Ramon Vazquez, sisters, Betty Porter, Louise Gray, Linda "Susie" Webster (Joe), Martha Haywood (Michael), Bell Stevens, and Donna Darby; brothers, Louie Smith (Ruth), Thomas Pate, Jr. (Sue), Robert Pate (Sheila), and Claude Pate; and grandchildren, Shirley Vazquez and Diego Vazquez.Pallbearers will be Stanley Blevins, Roman Vazquez, Charlie Haywood, Mitch Stevens, Frankie Pate, Aaron Broughton, and Michael Haywood.
