Muriel "Merle" Davis passed away, at the age of 70, peacefully on Thursday, November 11, 2010, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. He leaves to mourn, two sons, Rawn Duncan, New Bedford, MA, Michael H. Duncan, Mt. Vernon, NY; three grandchildren, Daniel Duncan, Mt. Vernon, NY, Jasmine Duncan and Shawn Duncan, New Bedford, MA; two brothers, Bishop Raymond Davis, Jacksonville, FL, Kenneth Davis, Canton, NC; three sisters, Mary Linda Campbell, Asheville, NC, Pauline Alexander, Canton, NC, Betty Braitwaite, Alexandria, LA; one sister in-law, Betty Davis and a host of relatives and friends. A viewing will be held on Monday, November 15, 2010 from 7-8 PM at Hart Funeral Home in Asheville, NC. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 12PM at Hart Funeral Home and immediately preceded by a burial service at the State Veterans Cemetery, 962 Old US Highway 70W, Black Mountain, NC 28711.
