Michael WilliamsSeptember 29, 1926 - September 6, 2013Michael Williams late of Lumsden, passed away with his family by his side at the age of 87 years. Michael was born in England and came over to Canada at the age of 3. He is predeceased by his parents, Mabel and Frank, brother John, son-in-law Ron Barker, sister-in- law Katherine, and three nephews; Robert, Allan and Robert. He is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Violet and his children; Ann Barker, Fred (Beryl) Williams, Linda (Larry) Luhning, Bill (Sheila) Williams. Grandchildren; Tracy (Jason), Brandi (Mark), Brittany (Ryan), Brody, Matthew, Aaron (Jenal) and Christie. Great-grandchildren: Ethan, Hanna, Jayla, Brooklyn and Cooper. Also survived by; brothers, Robert and Phil (Audrey), sister-in- law Merle and numerous nieces and nephews. Michael farmed at Truax and moved to Lumsden in 1960 where he started his own business, Williams Concrete as a basement contractor in Lumsden, Regina and Southern Saskatchewan. Along with his son Fred, Pioneer Insulation was started 35 years ago and continues to this day. At one time or another most of the family worked at Pioneer Insulation. Mick's day was not complete without several trips to the coffee shop in Lumsden. He enjoyed many winter vacations in Hawaii over the past 35 years. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Beryl for helping us through this difficult time. Her advice, assistance and compassion was greatly appreciated. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 11 at 7:00 p.m. at Victoria Avenue Funeral Home, 2080 Victoria Ave East. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Lumsden Centennial Hall. Interment to follow at Lumsden Cemetery. Lunch to follow at the Hall.
