Obituary of Mattie-Louise-Holt Allen


ALLEN, Mrs. Mattie Louise Holt, 76, died Monday, April 22, 2002 at her residence in Titus after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Gordon Allen. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. from Lebanon Baptist Church, with Rev. Roger Singleton and Rev. Charles Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Lebanon Cemetery with Gassett Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Gassett Funeral Home. She is survived by her daughters, Gwen (& Daryel) Sebring and Beverly (& Jim) Crain; her son, Kendall (& Laniece) Allen; grandchildren, Lisa Sebring (& Russell) Hester, LeAnn Sebring and Monica Allen (& Brian) Williams; great-grandchild, Rebecca Hester; brothers, Edward (& Mary) Holt, Harlan (& Myrtle) Holt and Truman (& Sara) Holt. Mother's Christian example of kindness, gentleness of spirit, devotion to her family, God and her church will always be held in highest esteem. The loving memories she created will be forever cherished by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. She will always live on in our hearts. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to Lebanon Baptist Church, in memory of Mattie Allen, 1877 U.S. Hwy 231, Titus, AL, 36080.
