Obituary of Margaret Bova


Margaret (Peggy) Bova (nee Conway) of Yonkers died on Tuesday May 25, 2010 at age 76. Born on October 2, 1933 to Thomas and Elizabeth (Owen) Conway in Yonkers where she was raised and attended Gorton and Commerce High School. Mrs. Bova worked as the secretary for the Post Master General in Yonkers for over 27 years, retiring in 1992. On July 29, 1953 she married Carmine Bova in St. Joseph's Church in New York City; he died on January 12, 2005. Peggy was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers at Mt. Carmel and a volunteer at both Cardinal Spellman Retreat House and Blessed Sacrament Monastery. Mrs. Bova is survived by her two children Michael (Lucia) Bova of California and Ann Marie (David) Black of Boca Raton, Fla. She is also survived by four grandchildren Billy, Jennifer, Brian and Rick and great granddaughter Giana, her brother James Conway and sister Cecelia Walsh and was predeceased by Thomas and Edward Conway. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be in Sacred Heart Church on Friday May 28th at 9:30AM. .
