Groton - Lucille E. Taylor, 91, of Groton, beloved wife of the late Richard K. Taylor, passed away Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at Groton Regency, where she had been a resident for the past several years. Born in Norwich, she was the daughter of the late George and Blanch Davis. Prior to her living in Groton, Lucille lived in North Stonington and Hollywood, Fla.She was employed with various local nursing homes as a nurse's aide, until her retirement. Lucille is survived by her son, Walter Taylor and his wife, Nancy, of North Stonington; brother, Raymond Davis of New Haven; two grandsons, Ryan Taylor and his wife, Cassie, of North Stonington and Scott Taylor and his wife, Marlene, of Old Saybrook; a great-granddaughter, Jewelia Taylor of Old Saybrook; and an adopted foster son, Robert Shippee and his wife, Judy, of Quinebaug; and several nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by a son, Kenny Taylor of North Stonington; brother, George Davis Jr. of Canterbury; and a sister, Alice Casavant of Norwich.Her family would like to thank the staff at Groton Regency for the care and comfort given to Lucille over the years.Funeral services and burial will be private.The Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1, has charge of arrangements.
