TOWNSEND -- Lucille A. (Gagne) Thomas, 74, of 68 Turnpike Road, died Saturday, Nov. 12, at Nashoba Valley Medical Center, Ayer. One of 14 children born to Louis and Eva (Lemieur) Gagne, Mrs. Thomas was born on June 9, 1931 and grew up in Fitchburg. She attended the Sacred Heart School in West Fitchburg. She had resided in Townsend for 56 years. For several years, Mrs. Thomas, with her husband, operated a bakery from their home. Many years ago she worked at the former Dohler’s Greeting Card Company in Nashua, N.H. She was a communicant of St. John’s Church in Townsend. Mrs. Thomas is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert E. Thomas; two daughters, Eileen J. Thomas of Townsend and Nancy A. Thomas-Rowell of New Ipswich, N.H.; two brothers, Louis Gagne and Richard Gagne, both of Fitchburg; two sisters, Joanne Dinneen of Fitchburg and Connie Bennett of Ashby; a granddaughter, Gail Hollon; and two step-grandchildren, Timothy M. Rowell II and Rachel M. Rowell. THOMAS -- On Nov. 12, Lucille A. (Gagne) Thomas, 74, of Townsend. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangeslist Church, 1 School St., Townsend. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, West Townsend. Calling hours are today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 250 Main St. (Route 119), Townsend Center.
