LOWELL -- Lorraine M. (Surprenant) Williams, a lifelong Lowell resident, died yesterday, Aug. 5, at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell, after a long illness. She was 70.She was born in Lowell, March 15, 1936, daughter of the late Alfred and the late Marceline (Moreau) Surprenant. She was educated in the local schools.She made her home in the Centralville area of the city on Christian Hill for more than 20 years. For the past 17 years, she resided in the Highlands section of the city and was a communicant of St. Margaret Church.Mrs. Williams was an active member of the Senior Center in Lowell, and was an avid bingo player and Red Sox fan, but her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family.She is survived by eight children, William S. Huard of Lowell, Rebecca A. Huard-Gioia, spouse of Lori Gioia, of Newburyport, Alfred J. Huard of Pelham, Victoria H. Travers, wife of Thomas, of Hudson, N.H., Francis A. Huard, husband of Margaret, of Hudson, N.H., Kimberly A. Huard and her significant other, Rita Greene, of Slatersville, R.I., Mark Huard, husband of Christina, of Tyngsboro, and Joy M. Golden, wife of Peter, of Dracut.She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Hope Smith and her husband, Reggie, of Nashua, Lou-Ann Belanger and her husband, Robert, of Dracut, Katherine Perrin and her husband, Derek, of Lowell, Jason Huard of Pepperell, James Huard of Nashua, Luke Huard of Hudson, N.H., Caitlin Golden of Dracut and Peter Golden Jr., also of Dracut; four great-grandchildren, Jaden and Isaac Smith of Nashua, Andrew Belanger of Dracut, and Gabrielle Perrin of Lowell; her brothers and sisters, Cleo Surprenant and his wife, Gloria Brown, of Dracut, Doris Santos and her husband, Frank, of Lowell, Edward Robert Surprenant and his wife, Lucille, of Lowell, and Betty-Ann Ducharme and her husband, Roland, of Lowell.She also leaves a sister-in-law, Helen Surprenant; her lifelong friend, Lorraine Adams of Lowell; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.She was also the sister of the late Joseph A., Irene, Norman and Leo Surprenant. She was the former wife of William Huard who died in 1980, and former wife of John Williams.
