Lillian Sheridan St. John's Episcopal Church Member BILLERICA Lillian (Howgate) Sheridan, 93, a former resident of Lowell, but more recently of Tewksbury, died Monday morning, March 2, 2009 at Life Care Center in Billerica. She was the widow of Thomas F. Sheridan, who passed away in 1993. Lillian was born in Barre, MA on July 24, 1915, the daughter of the late Alfred and Emma (Pearson) Howgate. Orphaned at age three, Lillian was raised by her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dennison Pearson. She graduated as valedictorian of the Benjamin F. Butler Jr. High School, and was a graduate of Lowell High School. Lillian was married to Thomas F. Sheridan and together they celebrated 53 years of marriage. Lillian was employed by the Raytheon Company as an assembler, but retired in order to care for her ageing family members. Lillian was an avid traveler, spending many months in England and Scotland, visiting Hawaii, and traveling extensively in the United States and Canada. A lifetime member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Lillian was a member of the Altar Guild and Episcopal Churchwomen. She was in charge of the Altar Memorial Fund, as well as the United Thank Offering. Surviving Lillian are her two sons, Thomas A. Sheridan and his wife Sandra of Buffalo, Texas, and William L. Sheridan of Tewksbury; three grandsons, William L. Sheridan of Clearwater, FL, Thomas J. Sheridan of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Ryan A. Sheridan of Spring, Texas; one granddaughter, April Caron of Lowell; four great grandchildren, Donna Canales, Kristen Chase, Nicole Sheridan, James Sheridan; a great great grandson, Jayden Canales. Lillian is also survived by two brothers-in-law, William H. Sheridan and Leo J. Sheridan and his wife Rita of Lowell, and numerous nieces and nephews in the Merrimack Valley. Lillian was the niece of Gladys Pearson and the late Wilfred (Mike) Pearson. She was the sister of the late Alfred Howgate who died in 1993. Lillian was also the grandmother of the late Mary Donna Sheridan and Daniel E. Sheridan. SHERIDAN In Billerica, March 2, 2009, at Life Care Center. Lillian's Funeral Service will be held on FRIDAY MORNING at 11 o'clock at the FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL. Burial will follow in the family lot in the Lowell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in Lillian's memory may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, 260 Gorham Street, Lowell, MA 01852.
