Services for Leta Kay Fair Mitchell, 71, will be Saturday, July 13, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Wellspring Church of God, 11040 U.S. Highway 278 East, with the Rev. Donnie Rader and the Rev. Tommy Reaves officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home.Kay, as everyone called her, received her ultimate healing on Wednesday, July 10. Survivors include her devoted husband of 54 years, Troy Levon Mitchell; son, Lee Heath of Anniston; two daughters, Pam (Tom) Bouska of Huntsville and Leta (Ronald) Freeman of Leesburg; five grandchildren, Lt. Leah (Lt. Charles) Bouska Hosey of San Antonio, Texas, Anna Bouska, Emma Bouska, both of Huntsville, Mitchell Freeman, Joanna Kay Freeman, both of Leesburg; two stepgrandchildren, Sgt. Jessica Cavendar and Christina (Josh) Freeman Sears; three brothers, Jimmy (Dianne) Fair, Edward (Juanita) Fair, Mack (Janice) Fair; and one sister, Joann Gambrell.Beloved wife and mother, Kay Mitchell was a Calhoun County native. She enjoyed a fulfilling 30-year career in the medical field where she retired after 23 years of service from East Alabama Eye Clinic. She attended Wellspring Church of God. She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and playing games. But, most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. Hoyt (Josie) Fair and Irene Parker Cook; brother, Gene (Sharron) Fair; and special uncle and aunt, James and Ardena Cole.Pallbearers will be Dewey Parker, Sam Parker, Harold Parker, Brent Fair, Preston Parker, Doug Parker, David Parker, Tommy Baggett and Charles Parker.The family will receive flowers, or memorial donations can be made to her favorite charity, The National Fragile X Foundation, 1615 Bonanza St., Suite 202, Walnut Creek, CA 94596.
