DOVER-FOXCROFT - Leona LaPointe Crawford, 101, passed away Nov. 14, 2011, in Dover-Foxcroft. She was born April 6, 1910, in Jacquet River, New Brunswick, daughter of Arthur Goudreau and Marie DeGrechie. Leona married Joseph "Leo" LaPointe, Nov. 11, 1926, in Nash Creek, New Brunswick, and they lived their early married years in Sea Side, New Brunswick. The LaPointes moved to Maine in 1936 with their four children. When Leo and Leona settled in Dover-Foxcroft, they joined St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Sadly, Leona became a widow in 1972. She married Elon Crawford in 1975. Leona lived in Dover-Foxcroft for the remainder of her life. Leona was predeceased by her beloved husband, Leo LaPointe; second husband, Elon Crawford; brothers, Joseph Goudreau, Wilbrod Goudreau, Alfred Goudreau and Edouard Goudreau; sisters, Florence Butler, Antoinette LaPointe and Lauretta Moyer; son, Elmer LaPointe; grandchildren, Wayne Perkins, Glenn LaPointe and Angela Smith; and great-granddaughter, Jennifer Smith. Leona is survived by her daughters, Evangeline and her husband, Richard Burnett, Eileen Perkins and Jeanne Smith; son, Lawrence LaPointe and his wife, Diane; grandchildren, Alan Smith and his wife, Deborah, Sheila and her husband, Lee Anderson, Holly Tasker, Linda and her husband, Scott Mountford, Randall Perkins and his wife, Diane, Carolyn Garland, Cherie Smith, Nona LaPointe, Lawrence LaPointe, Laurie LaPointe, James Perkins, Diane Chase, Gary Perkins and his wife, Diana, and Nicole LaPointe; great-grandchildren, Frank Rauccio and his wife, Adrienne, David Garland, Michelle Frey, Suzanne and her husband, David McElvain, Samantha and her husband, Jason Greenlaw, Garrett Smith and his wife, Erin, Samantha Perkins, Gregory Perkins and Andrea Mountford; and great-great-grandchildren, Breanna Rauccio, Tyler Rauccio, Brenley Rauccio, Trey Cooper, Catherine McElvain, David McElvain II, Lucas Greenlaw, Isabella Frey, Ella Smith, Emily Greenlaw and Lylla Smith. Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Dover-Foxcroft, with Father Kent Ouellette, celebrant.
