Obituary of Lee-R. Smith


Lee Roy Smith, 46, husband of Pam McMakin Smith, of 617 Circle Road, Greer, died April 5, 2002, from a long courageous battle with cancer. Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late William Clyde and Jessie Mae Robertson Smith. Lee was a brick mason employed by McMakin Construction until his retirement. He was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of the home; sons, Josh of Charleston, Michael and "Bug" of the home; sisters and brother-in-law, Jean Smith of Augusta, Ga., and Leona (Lee) and Paul Pemberton of Hephzibah, Ga.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug and Clemie Smith of Greer, Bill and Joan Smith of Taylors, Bettie Smith of Taylors, and Pat Smith of Greer. Also survived by many loving friends and family including his loving mother-in-law and father-in-law, Larry and Joan McMakin. Mr. Smith was predeceased by brothers, Eddie and J.C. Smith. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery. The family is at the home, 617 Circle Road, Greer. Please omit flowers, memorials may be made to Edgewood Baptist Church, Burnsview Baptist Church, or Cross Roads Baptist Church. II Timothy 4:7.
