->SIDNEY -- Lawrence George McKenna, 65, of Sidney passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer.Larry was born in Richmond in July 1943 to Leona and Vinton McKenna. He was the beloved husband of Patricia Flaherty McKenna and the father of Robert, Amy and Miriah McKenna.Since retirement, Larry enjoyed spending time with his family. He was devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren. Larry was an avid pool player. He was the 2008 Maine State Champion. Larry enjoyed collecting pool memorabelia and looking for antiques in his free time. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time at camp with his family. Larry was known for his honesty and kindness. He was a very caring person who was well liked by others.Larry is survived by his wife, Patricia; son Robert; daughters Amy and Miriah and son-in-law Kenny Bowring. He is also survived by brothers Rodney, Stevie and Harold; sisters Corrine, Beverly and Judith; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Larry was predeceased by his parents, Leona and Vinton McKenna; sister Susan; and brothers Kenneth, Robert and Roland.A celebration of his life will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, March 16, at North Manchester Meeting House on Scribner Hill Road in Manchester. A small gathering of family and friends will follow the service. Larry was loved and will be missed by all.
