KELLY, KATHLEEN MARGARET, age 59, of Austin, TX, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2005, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on September 1, 1945 in Queens, NY, to Warren and Edna Wallace Spellman. Kathy was the second oldest of 14 children and she spent much of her early years helping at home and with her father's catering business. She attended St. Elizabeth's Elementary, Bishop McDonnell High School and Mount Saint Vincent's College. Kathy later went on to complete her education by obtaining her Associate's Degree in Nursing. She was a grade school and preschool teacher for 15 years before entering into her 20 year nursing career, where she worked as a home health, quality assurance, and medical-surgical nurse. Kathy had a strong Catholic faith and was an openly spiritual person. She believed all people are children of God and treated others with grace and compassion. Kathy loved to cook, to sing, and was happiest spending time with family. She spent her life taking care of others and appreciated simple things. Kathy was a loving daughter, mother, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. Kathy was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Thomas J. Kelly; her parents; and her brother, Daniel John. She is survived by children, Francis Reilly and wife, Kim Thompson of Katy, TX, Michael Reilly and wife, Stephanie of Sugar Land, TX and Tara Brawley and husband, Andy of Austin, TX; her siblings, John Spellman and wife, Kathleen, Maureen White and husband, Gerard, James Spellman and wife, Linda, Cecilia Frey and husband, Jerry, Susan Magnani and husband, Edward, Michael Spellman and wife, Karen, Timothy Spellman and wife, Ann and Regina Spellman, all of Long Island, NY, Patricia Hear and husband, John, Mary Hopkins and husband, John, both of Queens, NY, Eileen Spellman of Las Vegas, NV, Richard Spellman and wife, Patricia of Charlotte, NC; her grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher, Megan, Michael- Benjamin, Kelsey, Kylie, Kalyn, Shelbi, Shaylea, and Drew; her nieces and nephews, Kathleen, Christine, Erin, Claire, Stacy, Matthew, Kerry, Mari, David, Noah, Kaitlin, Sarah, Caitlin, Timmy, Kelly, Shannon, Michael, Grace, Theresa, (Little) Michael, Brendan, Julia, Paige and Christian. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5- 8PM with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30PM on Tuesday, June 21, 2005 in the chapel of The Settegast-Kopf Co. at Sugar Creek (Williams Trace exit). A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10AM on Thursday, June 23, 2005 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 115 7th Street, Sugar Land. Inurn- ment will follow in Houston National Cemetery. Kathy will be dearly missed by her friends and family. She was our sounding board and counselor, our strength and spiritual advisor.
