<!-- FH = Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy --><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Joyce Beck ClarkMarble - Joyce Beck Clark, 69, of the Tomotla Community, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Murphy Medical Center. She was born on a small dairy farm in the Crabtree Community of Haywood County, NC. She was a 1962 graduate of Clyde High School where she was a varsity basketball player. She moved to Murphy in 1969 with her husband Lloyd. She was a member of Tomotla Baptist Church and served as a Children's Sunday School teacher for over 40 years. She enjoyed gardening and working with her flowers. Joyce was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed every minute with her family. She was also a homemaker for her own family as well as being a caregiver to many of the children in the community.She was the daughter of the late Ephraim Clingman and Mary Lee Parker Beck. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, May Burr Beck, Anna Lou James, Rena Mehaffey, and Georgia Gillett; and a brother, E.C. Beck Jr.Surviving are her husband of 49 &#189; years, Lloyd Clark.; two sons, Keith Clark and wife, Jill, of Asheville, NC and Doug Clark and wife, Kathleen, of Weaverville, NC; a brother, Ernest Beck and wife, Kathy, of the White Oak Community, NC; and four grandchildren, Makenna, Shelby, Celia, and Sean Clark.Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday, September 10, 2013 in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with the Rev. Harold Stiles officiating. Inurnment will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 11 in the Tomotla Community Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:45 Tuesday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy prior to the services.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Joyce Beck Clark to the Tomotla Community Cemetery Fund, c/o Alene Keener, 297 Hayes Road, Marble, NC 28905.Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy in charge of all arrangements.An online guest register is available at www.iviefuneralhomeinc.com
