Obituary of Joseph-S. Williams


JOSEPH S. WILLIAMS, 81, Inverness, died Saturday, February 28, 2009, at Hospice of Citrus County Care Unit at Citrus Memorial Hospital. Born April 21, 1927, in Frederick, Maryland, to the late Joseph S. Williams, Sr. and Helen (Morris) Williams, he came to this area in 1982 from Maryland. Joe was employed as a design engineer for Whitman Requardt & Associates, a commercial construction firm, designing bridges and roadways. He served our country in the United States Coast Guard. After relocating to Inverness, Joe was involved in the Inverness Lion's Club, Citrus County Water Color Club, Citrus County Genealogical Society, Friends of the Library, The Audubon Society and Citrus County Historical Society in the Archeological Section. In addition to water color painting, he enjoyed woodcarving. He also built beautiful models of antique boats of the Chesapeake Bay. Joe served in God's Kitchen at the First United Methodist Church of Inverness for over eight years. His survivors include his wife of 58 years, Marie F. Williams, Inverness; and sister-in-law, Claire Fulenwider, Vancouver, WA. At his request, no services will be held. Private cremation arrangements under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory. Memorial donations may be made in Joe's memory to Hospice of Citrus County, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464 or God's Kitchen Ministry, C/O First United Methodist Church of Inverness.
