John Thomas Woodward, 66, Sarasota, died unexpectedly Dec. 20, 2005. He was born Feb. 7, 1939, in Baltimore and retired in 1992 from IBM, where he had been a senior engineer scientist since 1973. He received a bachelor's degree in engineering in 1964 from Johns Hopkins University and was a lifetime member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers. He and his wife of 45 years, Margaret Jean (Zepp) also ran Hemlock Hill Farm, a sheep farm/spinning and weaving business. He was a member of the Maryland Sheep Breeders Association and the Romney Sheep Breeders Association, and helped create and organize the annual Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival. He was a licensed real estate agent, broker and appraiser and was a member of the Maryland and Frederick County Association of Realtors, affiliate member of Hagerstown, Hanover-Adams and Central Maryland MLS, and a founding member of the Appraisal Section of the National Association of Realtors. Survivors include a son, John T. Jr. of Sarasota; a daughters Mary J. Woodward-Greene of Woodbine, Md., and Margaret J. of Thurmont, Md.; a half brother, Joseph of Baltimore; a half sister, June of Baltimore; and five grandchildren. Services will be Jan. 6 in Emmitsburg, Md. The Good Earth Crematory, Bradenton, is in charge. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the MSJ Class of '56 Endowment, Mount St. Joseph High School, Development Office, 4403 Frederick Ave., Baltimore, MD 21229.
