John Thomas Woodward, 66, Sarasota, died unexpectedly Dec. 20, 2005. He was born Feb. 7, 1939, in Baltimore and retired in 1992 from IBM, where he had been a senior engineer scientist since 1973. He received a bachelor's degree in engineering in 1964 from Johns Hopkins University and was a lifetime member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers. He and his wife of 45 years, Margaret Jean (Zepp) also ran Hemlock Hill Farm, a sheep farm/spinning and weaving business. He was a member of the Maryland Sheep Breeders Association and the Romney Sheep Breeders Association, and helped create and organize the annual Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival. He was a licensed real estate agent, broker and appraiser and was a member of the Maryland and Frederick County Association of Realtors, affiliate member of Hagerstown, Hanover-Adams and Central Maryland MLS, and a founding member of the Appraisal Section of the National Association of Realtors. Survivors include a son, John T. Jr. of Sarasota; a daughters Mary J. Woodward-Greene of Woodbine, Md., and Margaret J. of Thurmont, Md.; a half brother, Joseph of Baltimore; a half sister, June of Baltimore; and five grandchildren. Services will be Jan. 6 in Emmitsburg, Md. The Good Earth Crematory, Bradenton, is in charge.
