DAVIS, John, O.M.IAfter a long illness, peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the age of 82. Son of the late Mary Jane Butler & James Davis. Loving brother of Geraldine (Gerard DeGagne deceased) Bryan & Beatrice Davis, Ottawa, ON, Barbara (Charles Massicotte deceased) Jim Davis & Therese Cormier, Val d'Or, Quebec and Jane & Dale Mitchell Kamloops, B.C. Predeceased by his sisters Margaret (Charles Massicotte deceased) and Anne (Ron Hines deceased). Devoted uncle of many nieces and nephews and their children. Many thanks for all the devotion and time given by Cindy & Allan Massicotte, and all of the staff at Granite Ridge. As an Oblate, Father Jack was pastor in Annapolis Royal N.S., Sioux Lookout and St. Agnes in Thunder Bay, St. Joseph's Parish Ottawa, Happy Valley N.L., Pre-Novitiate House, Ottawa; Breen House, Toronto. He spent an extended period at Nova Nada, N.S. Waupoos Island, at Galilee Centre, Arnprior and Springhurst Residence in Ottawa. For the last number of years, he has been at Granite Ridge in Stittsville. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home 1255 Walkley Rd. (East of Bank) Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. followed by a viewing, including Prayers for the Dead at Canadian Martyr's Church 100 Main Street Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Saturday to Canadian Martyr's Church for Mass of Christian Funeral at 11 a.m. Burial at the Oblate Cemetery, Arnprior. Contributions to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated.
