John A. Paquin 1948 - 2008 SHAFTSBURY John A. Paquin, 60, a resident of Cleveland Ave., Shaftsbury, died Saturday, Sept. 20, at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston following a brief illness. Born in Bennington March 26, 1948 he received his education in the Bennington schools and was a 1966 graduate of Bennington Catholic High School. John was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the Army. He married the former Linda Lee King, at St. John the Baptist Church in North Bennington on January 8, 1972. For many years John was employed at Stanley Tools Company in Shaftsbury. At the time of his death he was employed at Vermont Composites in Bennington. John was a member of American Legion Post 13, Bennington Elks Lodge #567, the Beattie Hollow Sportsman's Club and the National Rifle Association. He leaves his wife, Linda Lee Paquin of Shaftsbury; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica, and Mark Tibbetts, of Bennington, a daughter and son, Ashley Paquin and Andrew Paquin, both of Shaftsbury; three grandchildren, Jaeden, Jacob and Emily; four sisters, Nancy Paquin, of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Jean Maillet, of Punta Gorda, Fla., Barbara French of Montrose, Colo., and Patricia Surdam of Bennington; a brother, Raymond Paquin of New Milford, Connecticut and several nieces, nephews and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be held from the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008 at 9:15 a.m. with a prayer and from St. John the Baptist Church in North Bennington at 10 a.m. where the Mass of Resurrection will be offered. Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will take place in the family lot in the Village Cemetery, Bennington. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in John A. Paquin's memory may be made to either St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or to an education fund to be established for his grandchildren, c/o Linda Paquin through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
