Joanne M. (Hickey) Moore of Peabody formerly of Marblehead and Wakefield died Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Lahey Clinic in Peabody. Born on January 25, 1930 she was the daughter of the late William and Marguerite (Lynam) Hickey. Joanne was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School Class of 1947. She was also a graduate of Marymount College Class of 1951. She received her Masters in Education from Salem State in 1962. Before retiring in 1988 from the Clark School in Danvers, where she was the assistant principal and special needs teacher, she had taught for 35 years in Danvers and Swampscott. After retiring she enjoyed winters in Marco Island, FL. She was a former member of the Corinthian Yacht Club, the Beach Club of Swampscott, the Tedesco Country Club, the Skating Club of Boston and the Golf Club of Marco Island. Joanne was the wife of Richard S. Moore. She is survived by one brother, William Hickey of Hanover, NH. She is predeceased by her twin sister Jeanne OCallaghan of Swampscott and Marblehead, Marguerite Hern of Milton, Thomas Hickey of Reading, Eleanor Chew Horrigan of Boxford and Mary Murphy of Centerville. She was Aunt Jo to dozen of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by 5 stepchildren. A Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Joseph Church 173 Albion St. Wakefield Friday, June 21, at 11:30am. Visitation for relatives and friends was held at McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Avenue, Wakefield prior to the mass from 10a.m. to 11 a.m. Interment was at Saint Patrick Cemetery in Stoneham.
